Indian Space Research Organization on Monday successfully launched Polar Satellite
Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C35) carrying eight satellites took off from Satish Dhawan
Space Centre in Sriharikota. This is ISRO's longest ever launch mission with
duration of 2 hour and 15 minutes.
This is 37th flight for the PSLV
and the 15th time. This broke the news
headlines as PSLV for the
first time launched eight satellites into two different orbits
PSLV-C35 will help in India's
weather monitoring satellite and SCATSAT-1 is placed in the polar sun
synchronous orbit.According to news
update, the mission of SCATSAT-1 is to help provide weather forecasting
services to the user communities through the generation of wind vector products
for weather forecasting, cyclone detection and tracking, ISRO said.
