Mamata Banerjee's TMC back to power




According to exit polls it was correctly estimated that Mamata Banerjee will have a massive win in West Bengal and it’s has proved to be true. 
According to Election Commission of West Bengal, out of 294 seats Trinamool Congress won with 211 seats followed by the Congress with 44 seats, Left with 32 seats, BJP with 3 seats and other political party with 4 seats. The Congress and the CPI(M) had joined hands for 2016 Assembly elections. 


With this Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee had another clean sweep in West Bengal despite allegations of corruption and a major flyover collapse in Kolkata just ahead of the elections. Mamata Banerjee will take the oath as a CM of West Bengal on 27 May 2016.


BJP’s big win in Assam Assembly Elections 2016



BJP led NDA had a massive victory in Assam in Assembly Elections 2016. According to Election Commission of Assam, out of 126 seats BJP won with 87 seats followed by the Congress, which ruled for the last 15 years with 25 seats, AIUDF with 13 seats and others with 1 seat. This the first time that the BJP will form a Government in Assam. Tarun Gogoi from Congress has been serving as Chief Minister of Assam since 2001.

Elated with the win Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “I thank the people of Assam, WB, TN, Puducherry & Kerala for their support & assure them we will always work hard & serve them.”

TamilNadu Assembly Elections 2016 Results: Amma creates History







Proving the exit poll results wrong, the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu had a massive win in the Assembly elections 2016. According to Election Commissionof TamilNadu, out of 234 seats AIADMK won with 133 seats followed by the DMK with 99 seats and remaining seats won by others.

The AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa thanked party workers and people for the win. In her victory speech, Jayalalithaa said, “I am overwhelmed by the resounding victory the people of Tamil Nadu have given us. My party and I are indebted to the people of Tamil Nadu for giving this historic victory.”


Pudducherry Election Results 2016





The results for Pudducherry Assembly Elections are finally out and the wait is over. According to results released by the chief electoral officer’s (CEO) website of Pudducherry, Congress- DMK alliance won 17 seats, making a big win and ruling AINRC headed by Chief Minister and former Congressman N Rangaswamy secured 4 seats. AIADMK secured 8 seats and other political parties- 1 seat. Compared to the rest 4 states, Pudducherry had less number of seats comprising of 30 Assembly constituencies. Almost 344 candidates contested for elections from 30 Assembly seats. The votes were cast at 930 polling stations. Pudducherry as 9.41 lakh eligible voters. The voting percentage for 2016 was 81.94.
