Looks like Kerala is keeping its historical trend of electing the opposition party. According to results released by the chief electoral officer’s (CEO) website of Kerala, from 140 seats the Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) has won with a clean sweep with 91 seats, whereas United Democratic Front manages to bag 47 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 1 seat and other political parties with 1 seat again. Now the big question, who will be candidate elected as CM from LDF party. For the same, a LDF party meeting will be held tomorrow and the announcement of new CM of Kerala will be made.

PM Narendra Modi spoke to CPI (M) veteran V S Achuthanandan and wished him for LDF's victory in Kerala elections.
Oommen Chandy accepted defeat and said, "As the chairman of UDF front, I take the responsibility. UDF accepts people's verdict...this loss was unexpected. We will assess results and discuss all aspects.”
