Apple finds a new path for itself

When we hear the name of tech giant Apple, the first thing that strikes is Steve Jobs. Beginning with desktop systems, Apple moved towards smartphones market and the highlight was that the company clearly understood the future of Entertainment, apps and other content. But the competitors realized the potential later and Apple revolutionized the smart phone industry with its new innovations.
Apple has tough competition in the smartphone industry. According to market analyzers, Apple has come to standstill in smartphone market and the bigger question for Apple is to break through this and it is touted that because of the same Apple is entering to new sector and carve a place for itself. Looks like Apple’s move towards acquiring startup Glimpse is a step towards the same.

# The reason for Apple to acquire startup Glimpse
To make a mark for itself in the health sector, Apple has acquired startup Glimpse. according to latest news updates ,this is a recent acquisition by Apple. But still there has been no public announcement about the same by the tech giant. The startup Glimpse is founded by two Indians namely Anil Sethi and Karthik Hariharan in the year 2013. This company not only keeps the health related records of their customers but also provides information about the same from time to time.

On iphone 6, Apple has a health kit app and it helps the users to get their health related records on the go. Just a few months back, Apple had also acquired few small companies like Care Kit, Research Kit and others. These companies provide health related statistics to patients, doctors and researchers via cell phones.
Talking about the same, a speaker of Apple said that we have been acquiring small tech companies from time to time. Generally, we don’t want to talk about our strategy and intention for a particular step.

With Apple acquiring Glimpse one thing is clear that Apple is trying to attract the audience in health and fitness sector. Also with this move, Apple will be moving to a different sector all together.

#The main reason for Apple to enter the Health Sector
According to a latest news report, Health sector in America is worth 3 arab dollars. This is a clear indication why these big tech giants like Google, Apple are interested with healthcare sector. In 2014 Apple’s CEO Tim Cook had announced a new product ‘Apple watch’. This watch made its presence in market in 2015 and this helped customers to track their health, fitness. To create a strong hold in the market Apple launched Health Kit App in Iphone 6.

According to ABI Research, this year mobile healthcare industry will be worth 400 crore dollars. Taking in consideration the future growth aspect of Health sector industry, Apple and its competitors like Google, IBM, Samsung has entered the market. Even Amazon and Facebook plan to venture the same in near future.

Some more reasons for the acquisition:

Apple for first time has seen low in 13 years in revenue. We all know that 25 crore dollar is not a big amount for the tech giant but it is a matter of concern for Apple to take the next step. Just beginning of the year Apple had announced that for first time sales of smartphones has seen a fall.  With this Apple lost its title of most valuable company to new company Alphabet.

This clearly shows the moves of the tech giant into a sector which I yet to be explored. Smart, isn’t it!

The survey mentions that in India, there are ‘n’ numbers of stunted children and there is big difference between the height, given the factors of weight and age. Many children do not have particular weight of height according to their age and this is concerning aspect for the nation.
Compared to all the countries across the Globe, India is on the first place to have highest number of stunted children. According to Water Aid organization, some of the factors that play a crucial role in stunted height are lack of purified water, no proper sanitation, and lack of nutrition. Across the Globe, 159 million children under the age of five are stunted one in four children. But in India, it is every 5 children, 2 are stunted.
Situation of Children:-

The report also mentions that according to a recent study suggests that 54% of international variation in children’s height can be linked to open defecation, which spreads deadly diseases and makes children more susceptible to diarrhoeal illness and infection. India has made progress on reducing child stunting, from 48% of all children in 2006 to 39% in 2014.

It’s time to celebrate Youth Day!

It is said that flowing water will always be fresh but stagnant water will have nothing new to offer. Today’s generation is like fresh flowing water. Full of enthusiasm, courageous, goals oriented and have more patience, these qualities define the young generation of today and because of these, they are easily absorbed in any working environment.

United Nations Organization (UNO) branch of Economic and social affairs survey states that these days there are some changes in thinking pattern of young generation regarding jobs.

Every youngster after completion of studies in poor and developing countries is looking forward to take the responsibility of feeding the family and get respect in society. They are achieving the same by securing a job.
According to latest survey, across the globe nearly 7 Cr 30 lakh youngsters (aged 14-35) do not have job. Just a few days back in UP, India there was a news that for a sweepers job, many youths have applied. The shocking part is those included Degree and PG students.  This clearly shows India’s no-job situation.

In India, nearly 35cr, 60 lakh youngsters (aged 10-24) are looking for an apt job. The big question is, for this big number it is not only difficult to find an apt job but also to know if he/she possesses the required skill for the job? Off late, Government has also launched number of schemes for job opportunity but they don’t seem to be performing that great.

Everyone is assuming that India will face a difficult situation ahead but that’s not true. UNO gives a ray of hope in the darkness.

Employee- Owners same- same?
Employers offer and employees accept or deny the offer, that was the thinking which was nurtured in youth but now it is slowly changing. As per UNO report and Software company Delloite’s survey, the latest news is that among 29 countries across the globe nearly 7800 young employees are keen to start their own business. This is a good sign for the future.

The best part is the youth is able to implement at the pace of their thinking abilities. If it’s their company then the ownership automatically flows in, thus making them independent. The startup are making news headlines today. Even if they are the owners of the company, they are still working as employees of their company. Thus the owner- employee is same-same!

According to Wall Street Journal Survey, till date worldwide 149 private startup companies got 100 Cr profit each in first quarter of 2016. This sum is almost equal to one wing of a multinational company. The highlight is the startup companies are driven by age group of 25-34 years.

Many MNC’s these days are boosting startups in the best possible way.
Interesting Facts:
-         In upcoming decade, in developing countries there would be need for 60 Cr jobs but currently only 10 % of the same is fulfilled.
-         In Developing countries, 82% of youngsters wish to do their own business but in Developed countries only 52% is thinking of the same.
-         Compared to old adults, youth is 1.6 times keen to start a startup company.
